So How can we find the rudraksha to be original ? How we can use the genuine rudraksha for our use ? How can we discard fake beads from choosing ? Rudraksha is holy and the powers of it give many benefits to the wearer. It is the blessings of Lord Shiva.

How can we find the original Rudraksha?

The above question is far too many times the questions in the mind of wearer/buyer. We need to remember that testing Rudraksha is a tough job and involves a series of tests. Just one simple test can not verify that the Rudraksha bead is genuine and effective.

Testing with Milk:

We can put one Rudraksha in a glass with milk in it. Then we can observer the milk after 1-2 days. The milk does not get spoiled with Rudraksha. Sometimes some good quality Rudraksha can keep milk intact for longer time.

Testing with Reiki master:

We can take Rudraksha to someone who is good in reiki and have been a regular practitioner. We can give the bead to the person to feel its power by keeping it within his palms. He can feel the power and can tell how much more vibrations that certain bead gives compared to other beads.

Testing the weight of the bead:

Many ripe beads naturally sink in water. But there are cases where the ripe beads may not sink. Now days it is seen more beads are not sinking properly within water. This may be because of early harvesting of the beads.

Copper coin:

Many tested that it works and works nice. We tested that all living beads (beads have some plant life) rotate to some extent in copper coin. It is a wrong way of testing Rudraksha and most of the times people actually sell low quality of fake Rudraksha by making tests with it.

Observance of the bead:

Sometimes it feels much better to see the beads closer to find if it can be found fake or not. We can look at the bead closer or better with a magnifying glass to see the natural lines through the beads.

Cut test:

Usage of mala / rosary

These are used for keeping correct counting while chanting. While we chant, we generally recite some common word ( called Mantra ) for certain number of times. That means while repeating the mantra or name of god, we use the beads of the mala for counting purpose. This is a ancient practice in India and known as Japa.

There are different ways of using the beads mala for counting. There are certain rules to be followed in certain counting / japa practice. The way we hold the mala while chanting is the rule. Generally we avoid touching the beads with index finger. There is a center bead in a beads mala called sumeru. We start counting from sumeru and then roll each bead as we count, then we stop when we again reach the sumeru. The rule is - Never pass over the sumeru bead.

When someone does more japam then he simply turns round the japa mala and then again does the counting backward. The touching with index finger or the ego finger is always avoided.

Venus is positioned second to sun in the series of planets from sun. Venus orbits sun in 224.7 Earth days. It is also the brightest natural object in the sky after moon.

Venus is also known as Sukra. The meaning of Sukra is very white. Another meaning of Sukra is "Semen". As per astrology, venus rules over Taurus and Libra in kundali houses.

As per the old stories or Indian mythological stories, Venus is the son of Rishi Vrigu. Astrology was very well known to father of Sukra and so well to sukra himself. Sukra chosen to be guru (master) for Asuras ( Demons). He prayed to Lord Shiva and got knowledge of recreation or giving life in objects. After than Venus was able to give life to the Asuras who were dead in battles. With the non dying Demons, the fighting Devatas got impatient and planned a trick. They sent Kaca to be student of Sukra. Kaca is the son of Jupiter, the lord of Devatas. Sukra's daughter Devayani liked kaca.The demons after knowing all about the trick killed Kaca. Devayani requested father and Kaca was alive again with the mantra power of Venus.Demon kills again and the story continues to make Kaca alive. The demons killed kaka and grind and given to Venus as a drink after mixing with wine. Devayani this time requests father and Venus gives life to Kaca without knowing his existence. Now Kaca is alive in Jupiter's stomach and is ready to come out. Venus now told the way to give life to Kaca and died so that he can be again given life.

          We have previously discussed on different ways to test rudraksha bead. The issue for testing rudraksha bead is to ascertain the genuineness of the bead. The identification of genuine rudraksha is not that much complicated. But testing it is bit tough. There is no need for making any expensive tests for such. We can find many simple tests for ascertaining it. In the following paragraph we will be describing about cut test of rudraksha bead. Cut test is a sure experiment which gives perfect certainty.

          In cases, where we have doubts on the results from other rudraksha genuine test, then we can make this cut test. This is destructive test. We can cut the bead and test as below.

• The number of lines or faces on the beads, that many grooves exist ( see the above image )
• The number of seeds are equal to the number of grooves. One seed in each groove.
• The compartment inside each groove may not contain any seed at times. This is because - the seed may not have grown up or not matured bead.
• There may be cases where there will be two seeds being fused with each other. This happens in cases of higher mukhi beads.
• Count the inner compartments with care. There may be additional effort needed from simple visual testing.

Om - The supreme sound of universe

The primary name of god is "om" or  ॐ. In Yoga darshana, it is mentioned as "Tasya bachakah pranabah". That means "Om is the name of the omniscient.

Om - The Omnipresent

On 40th chapter of Yajur Veda, it is described "om krato shmara". That means "The god is omniscient & present in every living element & non living element". He is not restricted with sex. Because of all these special abilities of "The god", it is appropriate to call him as "om"/ॐ  .

Om - The god element / particle

Om / ॐ is the god element which creates all particles. The key ingredient which is present in every thing. This universe is only a part of ॐ. Om is this universe or in other way "This universe is created from om / ॐ". Mandukya Upanishad describes om as above.

          ॐ or om is made of three divisions ( as per grammar). "A + U + M " - These three make the word Aum / Om. These three words describe three primary characteristics of the supreme omniscient. A means creations. U means caring. M means destruction. God is responsible for creations, caring, destruction. Because of that - God is Om.

Care and precaution Rudraksha

          Clean your mala / beads when you feel they need cleaning after regular usage. Dip in warm water. Add some liquid soap. Hold for at least 24 hours and then brush with a plastic brush to clean dirt and grime that fixes in the pores of the beads. Then wash with running water and allow the balls to dry for several hours, and then apply some oil on the balls with the help of a brush. Sandalwood oil is best mixed with light olive oil. Oiling can be repeated every few weeks or when the bullets seem to dry as oiling makes pearls strong.

          The majority of rudraksha is in round shape with a different number of faces ("Mukhi") on it. Rudraksha faces or faces of rudraksha are clearly visible on each bead. But few rudraksha is also the form of cashew nuts. Sometimes they are like a pair in two rudraksha, of course, went with each other, so-called "Gauri Shankar rudraksha '. It is thought to have blessings of Lord Shiva and goddess Parvati.
